New details in the bathroom

My dear sister Laura made cute details for my doll house bathroom.
I am sure that Greta and Grace like those as much as I do.

Rakas sisareni Laura teki ihania yksityiskohtia nukketalooni. Olen varma, että Greta ja
Gracekin pitävät niistä ihan yhtä paljon kuin minä!

A cute little shelf for small items like the duck and perfumes...

Söpö pikku hylly ankkaa ja hajusteita varten...

Lace curtains and a sconce for the candle...

Pitsiverhot ja lampetti...

The green vase is from Korea! My friend Michelle visited Korea and sent me and my sister tiny vases as souveniers!

Tuo vihreä maljakko on Koreasta! Ystäväni Michelle vieraili Koreassa ja lähetti minulle ja siskolleni pikkuruiset vaasit matkamuistoina!

Laura made also these: a shelf with drawers and a towel rack. She has so skilled hands!

Mommy's dollhouse project- part II

Do you believe it! Still painting! Well, this is the last piece...

Usko tai älä! Vielä pitää maalata! Onneksi tämä on viimeinen pala...

Well, finally the floors for the Primrose doll house!

No niin, tässä on sitten lattiat Primrose nukketaloon!

This is the wallpaper for the dress maker's shop and also we have all the trims painted ready!

Here is the wall for the dressmaker's shop - doesn't it look cute when it is papered?!

This is the wall with all the trims and the window on.

Tässä seinä karmeineen ja ikkunakin valmiina asennettuna.

This is the same wall, but from outside, all the trims already set up.

Sama seinä ulkopuolelta, samaten ikkunanpuitteet ja oven karmit asenneittuina.

The actual dress maker's shop looks like this (the downstairs of the doll house).

Itse ompelimo näyttää siis tältä (Primrose nukketalon alakerta).

The attic is going to be a storage room for all the useful things that are not currently in use ;)

There are going to be window boxes under the windows - the other one just fell off while the doll house was left standing in the sun for the whole day...

Ikkunoiden alle tulee kukkalaatikot - toinen vain putosi pois, koska nukketalo jäi aurinkoon koko päiväksi...

Ready!! Not quite - it needs shingles, sigh...

Valmis!! No, eipä ihan, kattopäreet puuttuvat...

Greta will be soo-o excited when she visits the dressmaker's shop first time!

Mommy's dollhouse project- part I

This is what it is suppose to look like... And of course I mean mommy's dollhouse!!
It is actually in two parts, the Laurel and Primrose.

Here is the first part we are trying to make. And guess what it is going to be!! Greta's new dress maker's shop! Or lets see if Mom's dollhouse family is going to hire Greta. And the upstairs is going to be an attic.

Tässä on eka osa jota me yritetään tehdä. Ja arvatkaa mitä se aikoo olla!! Gretan uusi ompelimo!

Sanding and painting.... is the boring part of making the dollhouse - at least that's what I think... Actually I let Mommy and Laura do that...

And more painting.... Just guess what painting and sanding it will be to make the Laurel, I am starting to think this was a bad idea...

And of course for last a picture of the working space. Not looking too bad, is it?

Ja lopuksi tietenkin kuva työtilasta. Ei näytä pahalta, vai onko?

The Livingroom

Greta and Grace are having breakfast early in the morning. And of course Gloria has made it.
They have changed the furniture around because they were getting bored of the older version.
(ooooopss..., we noticed that this version could not be actually real because how could they possibly move the fire place...well).

Greta ja Grace syövät aamiaista varhain aamulla. Ja tietenkin Gloria on tehnyt sen. Tytöt ovat siirrelleet huonekaluja paikasta toiseen, sillä he kyllästyivät aikaisempaan versioon (ai niin, uuups, huomasimme juuri, että näin ei oikeastaan voi sanoa, sillä kuinkas he olisivat siirtäneet takan paikkaa... no-oo)

The cabinet is full of wonderful treasures from their adventures and old friends. The girls treasure these items a lot. These books are old and have been read many times over and over again.

The girls are eating a healthy breakfast to stay strong.

Tytöt syövät terveellisen aamupalan pysyäkseen vahvoina.

Greta and Grace have picked pretty seashells from the beaches on their adventures, that are now placed on the fire place so they can remember the wonderful times they had.

The Kitchen - Grace and Greta's mom has come back!!

Greta and Grace's long lost mom has finally returned! Their mother was in the war as a nurse. She helped the wounded, cooked food, and delivered post. She had so much work to do that she didn't have time to come to see Grace and Greta. But now when the war has ended a few months ago she came back home. And the girls are ever so happy!

Yummy, Gloria their mother has made delicious food!! Mmmmmm....

Gloria, heidän äitinsä on tehnyt hyvää ja maukasta ruokaa!! Mmmmmm....

Greta and Grace's favorite cereal -Rice Krispies and Corn flakes

Gretan ja Gracen lempimurot.

Gloria bought the girls some Coca cola for her homecoming and the girls just loved it!!

On the wall is a small chalk board were Greta usually write the shopping list, so that nothing is forgotten! Now there are new containers for the salt and sugar.

Seinällä on liitutaulu, johon Greta yleensä kirjoittaa ostoslistansa, ettei vaan mitään unohdu! Nyt heillä on uudet purkit, jossa he voivat säilyttää suolan ja sokerin.

This stool is one of the furniture that their grandpa has made. The jug and cups are painted by their talented aunt from India.

The Bedroom

Greta and Grace have a bedroom loaded with different items. Their grandpa had made the furniture, and the girls painted them themselves. The suitcase is a secondhand from a flea market. Greta made the bedding herself.

Matkalaukku on ostettu käytettynä kirpputorilta. Greta teki sängyn petaukset ihan itse.

In the corner there are Greta's yarn-basket and sowing materials.

Kulmassa on Gretan lankakori ja muutakin ompelemiseen tarvittavaa.

Grace is currently writing a letter to their aunt who lives in India.

Grace on kirjoittamassa kirjettä heidän tädilleen, joka asuu Intiassa.

The night table is full of books for bedtime reading. The flowers are Greta's favorites.

Yöpöydän laatikko ja kaappi on täynnä kirjoja iltalukemista varten. Pöydällä olevat kukat ovat Gretan mielikukkia.

The globe is also from their grandpa, who was a mapmaker and sailed around the world. The girls treasure this globe very much.

Greta made these beautiful hats for their Sunday dresses!

Greta teki nämä kauniit hatut heidän sunnuntaimekkojaan varten!
