Lots and Lots of Masking Tape

When we were setting up the base for the dollhouse, we needed lots and lots of masking tape... This was a bit tricky, the whole thing was pretty wobbly at this point. But we made it!

Kun me liimailtiin nukkekodin perustaa, me tarvitsimme tosi tosi paljon maalaarinteippiä... Koko homma tuntui aika horjuvalta tässä vaiheessa, mutta me selvisimme siitä!

Look, the Second Floor is Ready!

These photos show you the construction of the second floor! It is getting better all the time. As we happened to have more tiles, we made the bathroom floor at the same time.

Nämä kuvat kertovat yläkerroksen rakentamisesta. Tästähän tulee koko ajan hienompi! Koska meillä sattui olemaan varastossa laattoja, laitoimme samalla kylpyhuoneen lattian.

Still Doing the Assembly!

We are still doing the assemby. Now we are trying to fit in the side walls. We need all the hands we can get , even Granny's!

Me vieläkin rakennetaan. Tässä me sovitamme sivuseiniä paikalleen. Me tarvitsemme kaikki saatavilla olevat kädet, mummankin kanssa!

After glueing the parts together we taped the side walls with the masking tape for them to stay up properly.

Liimaamisen jälkeen me teippasimme sivuseinät maalarinteipillä, varmuuden vuoksi.

This is how it looks from inside. Isn't it nice!? We left the insides of the side walls without the wallpaper because of later assembly of the light fixtures.

Tältä nukkekoti näyttää nyt sisältä päin. Eikös se olekin kiva!? Me jätettiin sivuseinät tapetoimatta, koska me aiotaan myöhemmin laittaa taloon valaistuksen.

Exciting Assembly!

We started to put together the dollhouse, finally! It almost looks like a dollhouse already...
OK, let's get to the main point. Here is the blue livingroom. It already has the mat in there. My sweet Granny made it for me. It is really blue!

Vihdoinkin aletaan saada nukkekotia kokoon! Sehän näyttää jo ihan nukkekodilta...
OK, mennään asiaan. Tässä on sininen olohuoneeni, siellä on jo mattokin valmiina. Ihana mummani teki sen minulle. Se onkin tosi sininen!


Here is my kitchen. Imagine all the kitchen stuff in there. It is going to be great!

Tästä tulee keittiöni. Kuvittelepa kaikki keittiöjutut sinne valmiiksi. Tästä tulee kyllä tosi upea!




And this how the dollhouse looks like from the front. We have this lovely front door ready already! It just needs the hinges.

Ja tältä nukkekoti sitten näyttää edestäpäin. Meillä on jo valmiina tämän kivan näköinen ovi! Se tarvitsee vain saranat.

Second Floor Wallpapers

I haven't had time to write in my blog, because I have been sooo busy! But, look we have made the second floor! (and much more, actually the whole dollhouse is ready...!!!). This blog is just lagging behind badly.

Anyway, in the second floor, there is going to be a bedroom and a blue bathroom.

Minulla ei ole ollut aikaa kirjoittaa tähän blogiin, sillä olen ollut tosi kiireinen! Mutta olemme tapetoineet toisen kerroksen (ja puuhanneet paljon muuta... itse asiassa koko nukketalo on jo valmis...!!!). Tämä bloginpito vain laahaa perässä pahasti.

Joka tapauksessa, toiseen kerrokseen tulee makuuhuone ja sininen kylpyhuone.

First Floor Wallpapers

There are going to be two rooms on the first floor: kitchen and living room. The living room is going to be blue - and the kitchen, weeell it's a mix. Half tiles and half wallpaper. After glueing the wallpapers, we put on the inside trims - painted white.



Ekassa kerroksessa tulee olemaan kaksi huonetta: keittiö ja olohuone.
Olohuoneesta tulee sininen ja keittiöstä - nooo, siitä tulee kaksiosainen: kaakelia ja tapettia. Tapetoimisen jälkeen me liimattiin valkoiset ikkunan - ja ovenpuitteet.



Now, we have all the trims for the first floor! Yay!

Non niin, nyt meillä on tässä kaikki ekan kerroksen puitteet. Jihuu!

Safety Issues

Now we started to glue all the trims on. For that we use hot glue, which is really handy - but really hot! Be careful! When we have painted all the trims three times, then we stick them on. My mom and my sister Laura did almost all the work... no idea, how that happened... Well, I could not use the hot glue. Safety issue, you see...



Ja nyt me liimataan ikkunanpuitteita paikoilleen. Siihen me käytetään kuumaliimaa, joka on tosi kätevää - mutta kuumaa. Ollaanpas varovaisia! Me maalattiin puitteet kolmeen kertaan, ennenkuin ne liimattiin kiinni. Siskoni Laura ja äiti tekivät koko homman... kuinkas siinä niin kävi... No, minä en saanut käyttää kuumaliimaa. Turvallisuuden takia, siis.
