The Shingled Roof!

Finally we got to the last phase of building the house - namely putting up the shingles on the roof! (We decided not to build the staircase, so this really is the last thing to do).

There are two ways of shingling - and we did them both. Either you glue the shingles first to a paper which is cut in the right shape and only then you glue the whole thing on the roof. Which is done here, in these pictures!

Or you glue the single shingles which are taped together or stripes of shingles straight into the roof.

Either way works well! We decided to vary the different colored shingles besideeach other to make the roof look more vivid.

No niin, vihdoinkin olemme ihan viimeisessä talonrakennusvaiheessa eli katon päällystämisessä! Päätimme, ettemme rakenna talon sisälle portaikkoa, joten tämä tosiaan on viimeinen rakennusvaihe.

On kaksi tapaa laittaa kattopäreet paikalleen.

Shingling can be a really tedious job, but look how beautiful your roof came out. Nice and straight. (I think mine is a little crooked in places.)
